You can use more cross-country trails in the neighbouring towns, in Maria Alm in particular. The trails are more than 40 km long in total and illuminated by floodlights until 9 p.m.
CLASSIC AND SKATING TRAILS IN SALZBURG PROVINCE
Just a few minutes' walk from the Übergossene Alm Resort is the start of the cross-country ski trail at Dachegg. Breathtaking vistas of the Hochkönig and the Taghaube peak are your constant companion along the 5 km route, snaking its way over snowy fields and meadows. This round trail is flat to slightly hilly, and of medium difficulty to slightly strenuous, meaning that it's easy for cross-country skiers with a fair amount of practice. After around one and a half hours, you will arrive back at the starting point of your tour.
At the Dientner Sattel you will also find the Bigkar trail, which offers an exceptional 2.5 km view of the surrounding mountains.

Cross-country skiing in the Hochkönig region is very popular with amateur cross-country skiers and enthusiastic professionals alike. Have a great time practising this sport - not only healthy but easy on the joints - in good snow conditions, surrounded by stunning scenery and under sunny skies. In Maria Alm, beginners, ambitious advanced skiers, those who like to take it slower, and cross-country professionals will find the largest network of routes with 30 km of trails at all levels of difficulty.
